Infant Eczema?
Help, has anyone got a good tried and tested herbal remedy for infant Ecezma. Must be 100% herbal no Chemicals.
Anyone help me.
Thanks.
Margaret answers:
The most easy thing you can do is to first try giving your infant 1 tsp. Of “air dried sea salt” per day. It should be gone in about 5 days. If the infant is using ANY soy products, eliminate those, completely. Also, if the infant is using pasteurized milk, change to RAW milk. Pasteurized milk has huge amount of altered proteins that generate foreign amino acid chards that generate homocystines in the body that generate lots of allergies. The cows that produce that garbage milk are fed in feed lots and eat lots of grains where they become unhealthy and have to be given lots of antibiotics to keep them from falling down.
For good information and high quality milk, go to: www.organicpastures.com
By the way, the best sea salt I’ve ever found is at: (800) 370 – 3447. They will ship it to you and it’s not expensive.
Good luck to you

What is the best treatment for infant Eczema?
My 8 week old has developed eczema. It is around his eyebrows and forhead? I know you usually let it run its course, but is their anything you can put on it to help it?
Margaret answers:
I believe it’s hyrdocortisone that you put on it. A home remedy that really worked for my grandmother was Crisco (yes, the one for baking). Her dermatologist recommended it. My mom and aunts had tried evreything to relieve her, and finally the Crisco was the one thing that worked.

Charles asks…
Can you suggest a cure to severe infant eczema?
I have an 18 month old that has severe eczema. Seems like nothing that we have tried other than steriod creams seems to work. Anyone one have any suggestions?
Margaret answers:
Well there really is no “cure” for eczema, you just kind of grow out of it.
If it’s that severe I would think that it’s psoriasis! I recommend this site, http://www.psoriasis.org/treatment/psoriasis/
If it’s eczema, talk to your dermatologist, eczema takes a long long time to get rid of, even with a prescription.

William asks…
How often should you bathe an infant with eczema?
I have a six week old son with eczema. I bathe him every night. Should I be bathing him every other night? His eczema seems to be getting worse and I’m not sure of proper treatment for eczema. What kind of lotion is best for eczema? I’ve tried Johnsons, Aveeno Baby, Palmer’s, and am currently using Euceran Calming Creme which was recommended by a friend.
Margaret answers:
I have a little boy with severe eczema and we were told by our pediatrician to treat it with Hydrocortizone (sp?) cream applied to the affected area twice a day. We only bath him every 2 days and only for about 5-10 minutes. Frequent bathing removes the natural oils from the skin which can cause eczema to become worse. We also use a cool mist humidifier in his room to help keep his skin hydrated. Oh and after a bath make sure you moisturize his skin within 5 minutes of taking him out so he doesn’t dry out too much. You can also use baby oil in the bath water.
EDIT:
Also switch to a baby safe washing detergent and don’t use any fabric softener or dryer sheets.

What have you found works best for infant facial eczema?
My daughter is just 5weeks old and I think she has eczema all over her face, neck, and upper chest. None of my other kids had this.I have read up on it and have some ideas of what to do until we see the doctor next, but was wondering what others’ experiences were with this and worked best.Thank you!
Margaret answers:
Eczema is a sign of an allergy. At 5 weeks it’s likely dairy. If you eliminate the allergen the eczema will go away. If you continue to expose your child to the allergen you can put all the cream on there you want and it will just keep coming back. It can lead to asthma in the long run too. Please talk to your doctor about it. Http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/diseases_conditions/allergies_immune/eczema.html
